WardroxWardrox (WDX) A strategy game played on the Internet using a web browser, commonly abbreviated to WDX. It is text based and is tick based. Each user will receive a turn for a set number of seconds passed. Users can use these turns as if they were time units. The game becomes more complex as the user advances and they begin to enhance there interactivity with other players and thus the game grows with the user. Wardrox the web site has been around since 1998 and the game began forming in early 2004. Beta testing was opened in late 2004 and has constantly been developed since. At the start of 2005 the game started becoming noticed and a full redesign of the game was performed ensuring hitch free development for the future. The game has been designed so it will never be completed, only advanced and so constantly giving the user more. The games founders decided on a set of principals that they would stick too: 1)The game will never hinder or create a disadvantage those people who do not want to pay. 2)The game will always be designed for speed and game play. 3)Half of all profit made by the game will go to charity. The second principal is the most striking when you begin playing the game as you realise that there are no graphics at all within the game allowing extremely quick page load times. The creators want to keep graphics off the game altogether or at least to a minimum, this allows all platforms (including Palm and phone) to view the game. External Links WDX - The Game - The games web page, this also has further reading on the game, rules a guide etc. Also a good place to look if you want to mail the crew for more information.
