War Flag

A war flag is a flag used by military forces. Several countries (like the United Kingdom) have unique flags flown by their armed forces, rather than the national flag. These are readily identified as war flags. Other countries' armed forces (like the United States) use their national flag. These are also known as war flags, though the terminology ONLY applies to its military usage. Large versions of the war flag flown on warships are also known as battle ensigns.
