Wang Zhizhi

Wang Zhizhi (王治郅, born July 8, 1977 in Beijing, China) was the first Asian person to play in the American National Basketball Association. He was previously a star of the Chinese national team and played in the Chinese Basketball Association. He was signed by the Dallas Mavericks in 2001, and has since played for the Los Angeles Clippers and currently the Miami Heat. Tall at 7' 1" (216 cm) but not especially athletic, Wang is primarily known in the NBA for being a great long range shooter. The other Chinese players to join the NBA since Wang are Mengke Bateer and Yao Ming.
