Walnut Canyon National Monument

Walnut Canyon is located about 10mi north east of Flagstaff, Arizona next to the I-40 and was established as a United States National Monument in 1915. The Canyon rim lies at 6690ft the canyon floor 350ft lower. A 0.9mi long loop trail descends 60ft into the canyon passing 25 cliff dwelling rooms constructed by the Sinagua people.
