Wallsend

Wallsend is literally the "end of the Wall", that being Hadrian's Wall. Situated between North Shields, Jarrow and Newcastle upon Tyne, it has a history of shipbuilding. Wallsend was the home of the Wigham Richardson shipyard, which later amalgamated to form Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson, probably best known for building the RMS Mauretania.
