Waite Hill is a village located in Lake County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 446.

Geography

Waite Hill is located at 41°36'56" North, 81°23'18" West (41.615622, -81.388389). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 11.1 km² (4.3 mi²). 10.9 km² (4.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.41% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 446 people, 183 households, and 144 families residing in the village. The population density is 40.9/km² (105.9/mi²). There are 197 housing units at an average density of 18.1/km² (46.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.21% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 183 households out of which 19.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.4% are married couples living together, 2.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.8% are non-families. 13.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.71. In the village the population is spread out with 16.6% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 17.0% from 25 to 44, 38.3% from 45 to 64, and 24.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 52 years. For every 100 females there are 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males. The median income for a household in the village is $97,595, and the median income for a family is $134,041. Males have a median income of $76,790 versus $32,188 for females. The per capita income for the village is $61,408. 0.9% of the population and 1.4% of families are below the poverty line.
