Wachtebeke Wachtebeke is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality only comprises the town of Wachtebeke proper. On January 1st, 2004 Wachtebeke had a total population of 6,815 (3,376 males and 3,439 females). The total area is 34.53 km² which gives a population density of 197.35 inhabitants per square kilometre|km². The current mayor of Wachtebeke (as of 2004) is Willy De Vliegher. The Langelede is a small river and corresponding residential street in the town.
