Geography Wabasso Beach is located at 27°45'36" North, 80°24'4" West (27.759930, -80.401189). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²). 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.68% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,075 people, 554 households, and 383 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 351.7/km² (912.3/mi²). There are 865 housing units at an average density of 283.0/km² (734.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.79% White, 0.09% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 0.47% from two or more races. 1.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 554 households out of which 9.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% are married couples living together, 3.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 25.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.94 and the average family size is 2.28. In the CDP the population is spread out with 8.5% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 10.5% from 25 to 44, 32.1% from 45 to 64, and 46.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 64 years. For every 100 females there are 94.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.2 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $67,072, and the median income for a family is $74,808. Males have a median income of $75,771 versus $39,464 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $48,690. 1.4% of the population and 2.0% of families are below the poverty line.
