Vst Plugin

VST is an abbreviation for Virtual Studio Technology. The VST plugin technology is an interface standard, developed by Steinberg, for connecting audio synthesizer and effect plugins to audio editors and hard-disk recording systems. A VST plugin is a real-time audio processing module that can be hosted by any VST compatible host software, for example Steinberg Cubase VST, WaveLab, Nuendo, Rosegarden, or Emagic Logic Audio. In principle, the plugins should work with all audio applications that are capable of hosting VST plugins, i.e. Steinberg Cubase VST, Audacity, Nuendo and WaveLab, Emagic Logic Audio, TC Spark, Bias Deck, and Bias Peak.
