Volcae
The
Volcae
were a large and powerful
nation
of southwestern
Gaul
, comprised of two branches, the
Volcae Arecomici
and the
Volcae Tectosages
. Their name appears to derive from the same origin as the
German
Volk
, "people", from which derives
English
"folk".
