Virgin Publishing

Virgin Publishing is the book publishing arm of Virgin Enterprises, the company originally set up by Richard Branson as a record company. The book publishing arm was established in the late 1980s after Virgin purchased several existing companies, including WH Allen and their popular Target Books subsidiary. Among their best-known books are the Doctor Who New Adventures novels, officially-licensed full-length novels carrying on the story of the popular science-fiction television series following its cancellation in 1989. Virgin published this series from 1991 to 1997. Other popular ranges have included various erotic fiction lines, episode guides to numerous television series, and books on a variety of films and musicians.
