Viet D. Dinh

Viet D. Dinh (born February 22, 1968) was the Assistant Attorney General of the United States from 2000 to 2004, under the presidency of George W. Bush. He was the chief architect of the USA PATRIOT Act. Born in Saigon, South Vietnam, Dinh came to America as a refugee in 1978. After 2 years in Portland, Oregon, his family settled in Fullerton, California. He currently resides in Washington, D.C. He attended Harvard College and Harvard Law School and graduated magna cum laude.
