Vib-ribbon

Vib-Ribbon is a game for Sony PlayStation. Developed by NanaOn-Sha and released in 1999, the game was only made available in Japan and Europe. Vib-Ribbon is a rhythm video game in the style of PaRappa the Rapper and more recently Amplitude. The game was unique in its execution, the software loaded into RAM enabling the user to remove the game-disc and insert a music CD. The game then generated a unique level on the fly based upon the current track. Because of the size constraints of the PlayStation's memory the graphics for Vib-Ribbon are simplistic, if very unique, at best. The graphics consist of straight white lines forming crude drawings of your character and its level. Most the in-game music is included on the game CD as standard CD audio format tracks, including six songs by Japanese group Laugh And Peace. There was a sequel titled Mojib-Ribbon which followed a similar concept but using text files.
