Vgmix

VGMix was created by Jake "virt" Kaufman in 2002 after a feud with David "djpretzel" Lloyd, webmaster and creator of OverClocked ReMix. It is a site similar in idea, dedicated to video game arrangements, or "remixes" however with a much different approach to quality control. Rather than using judges like the OverClocked ReMix system, VGMix's quality control is maintained through user reviews, in order to attain a more peer-based recognition of values and standards. And instead of simply rejecting user submitted songs, the songs are categorized by quality level based on points given by the listeners. The VGMix user base also has strong ties with many scenemusic and electronica sites, especially borrowing members of Hellven as admins/webmasters. virt himself is also well known for his demoscene and chiptune tracks.
