in the
Canadian

Saskatchewan
. It was almost completely destroyed by two major fires on
January 22
and
January 29
,
2004
. The future of the village currently remains in question. Villagers will get together to hold a vote to decide its future. Veregin is located 50
kilometres
north-east
of
Yorkton
. Veregin is named after
Peter Veregin
,
Doukhobor
leader.
