According to the Pokdex its fins will quiver when rain is on the way. It can also merge completely with water, because its cells are similar to water molecules. Vaporeon is an evolution of Eevee, it can be obtained by using a Water Stone on the furry Pokmon. Name Origin If one splits up the name, one gets "vapor" and "eon." Vapor probably refers to the fact that Vaporeon can merge with water; gaseous water is known as water vapor. "Eon" is hazy, but it might refer to the fact that Eevee is in another "stage," or era of its life (as opposed to the stages of Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, and Jolteon).
