Valgerd Svarstad Haugland

Valgerd Svarstad Haugland (born August 23, 1956) is Minister of Culture and Church Affairs and former leader of the Christian Democratic Party in Norway, to which also Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik belongs. She withdrew as party leader at the extraordinary annual assembly of the party on January 23, 2004. The main reason is that she was blamed for being responsible for the bad results at the last local election held September 2003.
