• The first Valley Forge (CV-45) was an aircraft carrier commissioned in 1946, active in the Korean War, converted to an amphibious assault ship LPH-8, and serving in the Vietnam War until decommissioning in 1970.
• The second Valley Forge (CG-50) is a guided missile cruiser commissioned in 1986 and on active service as of 2004.
