Uss United States (Cc-6)

USS United States (CC-6) was planned to be one of six Lexington-class battlecruisers of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid down 25 September 1920 by the Philadelphia Navy Yard; however, her construction was halted on 8 February 1922 when the vessel was only 12.1 percent complete. Under the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty for the Limitation of Naval Armaments of 1922, the unfinished hulk of United States was sold on 25 October 1923 for scrap. See USS United States for other Navy ships of this name. United States
