Uss Newark

• The protected cruiser Newark (Cruiser No. 1).

• In 1942, CL-100 was to be a light cruiser named Newark, but it was converted to a light aircraft carrier and eventually launched as the San Jacinto (CVL-30).

• Another light cruiser Newark (CL-108) was cancelled in August 1945 before completion, although the hull was later launched and used for tests.
