Uss New Mexico

• The first New Mexico, (BB-40), was the lead ship of her class of battleships, commissioned in 1918 and struck in 1947.

• The second New Mexico, (SSN-779), is a Virginia-class submarine. As of 2004, construction is scheduled to begin in 2006.
