New York Navy Yard
. Her construction was suspended on

1922
at 34.7 percent complete, and canceled
17 August
1923
in accordance with the provisions of the
Washington Naval Treaty
. She was struck from the
Naval Vessel Register
on
24 August
1923
and sold on
25 October
1923
to be scrapped. The armor plate in storage that was reserved for the ship was used to reinforce the defenses and locks at the
Panama Canal
