she served as training vessel at the
Naval Training Station

. She then shifted to the
United States Naval Academy
where she remained until

when she returned to Newport.

continued in service at Newport until transferred to the
Department of the Interior

for use in
Alaska

Bureau of Education

was an
aircraft carrier
that served in the
Korean War

amphibious assault ship
