Subang was previously most known for its airport, which was replaced in 1999 by the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang. Discussions are still going on whether or not to position Subang Airport as a no-frills budget airport, or to dismantle it entirely and allocate the freed land for industrial purposes.
