Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle sits beside Loch Ness in Scotland along a strategic travel route between Fort William and Inverness. It is close to the hamlet of Drumnadrochit. It is not known precisley when the castle was built, but records show the existance of a castle on this site from the early 1200s. The building was blown up in 1692 to prevent it becoming a Jacobite stronghold.
