Unknown Pleasures

Unknown Pleasures is the first album by Joy Division, released in 1979. It was produced by Martin Hannett and recorded at Strawberry Studios, Stockport, England. Unknown Pleasures is followed by Closer, their final studio album. The picture on the front of the album is a graph of radio waves recorded from the first known pulsar, it is entitled "100 consecutive pulses from the pulsar CP 1919". The cover was designed by Joy Division, Peter Saville and Chris Mathan. Unknown Pleasures was released on Factory Records.
