University Of Ottawa Heart Institute

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute (aka Heart Institute) was founded in 1976 on the site of the Ottawa Civic Hospital by Dr Wilbert J. Keon. Since then it has become a global leader in the fight against heart disease. "What started as a department in a hospital has evolved into Canada's only complete cardiac centre, encompassing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, research and education." The Institute is affilaited with The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa.
