University Of Montana

The University of Montana is a state university located in Missoula, Montana, USA. The school was founded in 1893. The University has three colleges--arts and sciences, forestry and conservation, and technology--and six schools--journalism, law, business, education, pharmacy and the fine arts. The University calls itself as a city within a city; with its own eateries, stores, medical facilities, banking, postal services, and ZIP Code. The athletic teams are nicknamed the Grizzlies and compete in the NCAA's Big Sky Conference. UM ranks 17th in the nation and fifth among public universities in producing Rhodes Scholars. UM has had nine Truman Scholars, 10 Goldwater Scholars and 13 Udall Scholars. UM’s Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library houses the earliest authorized edition of the Lewis and Clark journals.
