The University Hasselt (the former LUC) is a university with campuses in Hasselt and Diepenbeek, Belgium. It was founded in 1971. The university consists of 3 faculties:

The faculty of Sciences (where you can study maths, physics, IT, biology and chemistry);
The faculty of Applied Economics (where you can study economics and commercial engineer)
The faculty of Medicine (where you can study medicine and biomedical sciences).
There is also the possibility to learn "transport studieses".

The rector of the university currently is prof. dr. Luc de Schepper, the vice-rector is prof. dr. Mieke Van Haegendoren.

In the future it is possible that the Universities of Hasselt and Maastricht will become one university; University Hasselt-Maastricht

Location

The University Hasselt is located in Diepenbeek (a small town near Hasselt) but is expanding towards Hasselt, the capital of Limburg.
