Universal Carrier

The Universal Carrier was a tracked British World War II vehicle for infantry use as a weapons and supplies transport. Although used for carrying a variety of support weapons, including the Vickers machine gun and mortars, it was commonly known as the Bren Gun Carrier. Although lightly armoured on all sides, it was an open top design and occupants were not as well protected from shrapnel or blast on the battlefield.

Production

Universal carriers were manufactured in Canada, and other Empire/Commonwealth nations. The Carrier was used by all Empire forces. A similar (and related vehicle) is the Lloyd Carrier.
