United Secretariat Of The Fourth InternationalThe United Secretariat of the Fourth International (USFI) is the largest Trotskyist international organisation. Its major section is the Revolutionary Communist League in France. The USFI was created in 1963 by the merger of two factions of the International Secretariat of the Fourth International (ISFI) and the U.S. Socialist Workers Party, who had been on opposing sides of the split in the Fourth International in 1953. The SWP had always been viewed as the organisation in the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI) closest to the ISFI, and the key factor in the rapproachment was their shared positive perspective on the Cuban Revolution. The organisation suffered many splits over the following years, most notably when the SWP left in 1983, but remains the largest and probably the most widespread Trotskyist international.
