Twyford, Berkshire

Twyford is a village situated in the heart of the Thames Valley on the A4 between Reading and Maidenhead, close to Henley-on-Thames, Wokingham and Bracknell. It is surrounded by other smaller villages such as Hurst, Waltham, Wargrave and Crazies Hill but close to major retail and business centres such as Reading, Bracknell, Maidenhead and Slough. The village is situated within 5 miles of the M4 and 10 miles of the M40. Twyford railway station is on the Great Western Main Line and served by trains between Reading and London Paddington stations. Taken together this make Twyford very popular with commuters. The village name is Anglo-Saxon in origin, and means double ford. It is a common name in England.
