TwixTwix is a candy bar made by Mars, Inc. The candy bar consists of a cookie finger topped with caramel and coated in milk chocolate. Being somewhat smaller in cross section than other candy bars, Twix are typically packaged in pairs. Twix are also made with peanut butter replacing the caramel. Twix was called Raider in Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Finland and the Netherlands for many years before its name was changed in 1991 to match the international brand name. This name change was met with scorn in Germany. The slogan Raider heißt jetzt Twix, ... sonst ändert sich nix ("Raider is now called Twix, ... nothing else changes") has become a metaphor for botched attempts to make something look more modern by giving it a new, cool name. Other flavors of Twix include: 'Peanut Butter.' Discontinued flavors of Twix include: 'Double Fudge' and 'Cookies n Cream.' Cultural reference Twix featured prominently in the plot of an episode of Seinfeld. A hungry George attempts to get Twix from a vending machine. When the machine fails to dispense it, George goes in search of a manager. He returns to find that someone else has eaten the Twix, leading him to stage an elaborate logical trap with the hope of extracting a confession and some replacement Twix.
