Twin (Mythology)
In virtually all the
mythology
of the world, the
Twin
represents some "other" aspect of the Self, a
doppelganger
in some way. Often the twin is the "
evil twin
", or one may be human and one semi-divine. In myth, the twin may be a
brother
, or a soul-mate, such as the "civilized"
Gilgamesh
and the "wild"
Enkidu
. See also the mythic twins

,
Amphion and Zethus
of Thebes, and
Romulus and Remus
of Rome.
