Truman Sports Complex
The
Harry S. Truman Sports Complex
is a facility located in
Kansas City, Missouri
. It was built by the government of
Jackson County, Missouri
.
Arrowhead Stadium
, home of the
National Football League
's
Kansas City Chiefs
, opened in the fall of
1972
; and adjacent Royals Stadium (now
Kauffman Stadium
), home of
Major League Baseball
's
Kansas City Royals
, opened in the spring of
1973
. The complex was one of the first (if not the first) of its kind. The theory behind the concept was that multiple stadia could share the same infrastructure: parking, roads, etc., while still having the benefits of sport-specific facilities.
