Troika (Pottery)

Troika was an art pottery operating in Cornwall from 1963 to 1983. Troika was set up in 1963 by a trio of ceramic artists, Benny Sirota, Leslie Illsley and Jan Thomson. It was based in St Ives, Cornwall from 1963 to 1970 and then in Newlyn until its closure in 1983. Troika specialized in a unique style of experimental, geometric ceramics with strong glazes, both roughly textured and smooth white.
