Trogdor

Trogdor the Burninator is a vicious dragon that is a part of the Homestar Runner series of animated cartoons. Strong Bad created him when a fan email requested a display of his "skills of an artist". Trogdor does not interact with the rest of the gang, but is featured in an animated short at the end of the "Dragon" email (which also includes the song "Trogdor"), and he appears in two video games (Peasant's Quest and Trogdor) on the site. Trogdor's nefarious deeds consist of "burninating the countryside", "burninating the peasants" and "burninating all the peoples in the thatched-roof cottages". Some fans prefer to write his name TROGDOR the BURNiNATOR, as this is the way Strong Bad originally wrote the name on a piece of paper, complete with the uncapitalized "i". The reason that the "i" was uncapitalized is because the font that The Brothers Chaps used, "Ahnberg Hand", does not have a capital "i". Trogdor has also made an appearence in the preview of a real-life movie made by The Brothers Chaps and their friends. He, however, still remains in animation as he tramples the countryside while "burninating" it all. This movie is the real-life rendition of a game on HSR, Peasant's Quest, which involves a peasant named Rather Dashing seeking revenge against Trogdor for "burninating" his thatched-roof cottage. An unused 20X6 version of Trogdor, "Trogador", was revealed at the NYU Talk The Brothers Chaps gave March 1st, 2005. Trogador bears resemblance to a Chinese dragon.

Sightings

Trogdor and his characteristic "burnination" has entered popular culture: in the final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he was referred to in a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Joss Whedon, Buffy 's creator and the writer of that episode, is an apparent fan of the series and has been photographed wearing a Strong Bad shirt. The Burninator has also been alluded to in the upcoming computer game Guildwars. Two spells in the elementalist fire tree are named Mark of Rodgort and Rodgort's Invocation, respectively. The word "Rodgort" is simply Trogdor spelled backwards. While not mentioned by name, Trogdor was also referenced in the Final Fantasy I & II game for GBA, in which a guard informs you that "Tresspassers will be burninated."
