It is #252 in the National Pokdex, a basic grass-type, and one of the three Hoenn starter Pokmon, along with Torchic and Mudkip. Name Origin Treecko is simply a combination of the words tree and gecko. Pokdex definition According to the pokdex, this pokmon tries to stay cool and calm even if its foe is larger than it. It attacks its foes by slamming them with its tough tail. It also "has small hooks on the bottom of its feet that enable it to scale vertical walls." In-game details Picking this pokmon as a starter is categorized as choosing a "Medium-easy" difficulty level for the game because the first gym leader uses pokmon whose type is weak against Treecko's. However, it is important to not forget that Treeeko is weak against flying-type pokmon, which are highly common. In the anime In the pokmon anime, one thing that characterizes Ash Ketchum's Treecko in particular is the fact that he always puts a small twig in his mouth. Ash's Treecko evolves into Grovyle in the episode "Critical Situation! Exploud Vs. Grovyle!", which recently aired in the US.
