Transmitter Thurnau

The Transmitter Thurnau is a medium wave transmission facility for transmitting the medium wave programme of Deutschlandfunk, on 549 kHz, near Thurnau in Northern Bavaria, Germany. The transmitter Thurnau was established in 1980. Until 1996 it was run with 200 kilowatts; now it uses 100 kilowatts. The transmitter Thurnau uses as aerial a guyed steel framework radio mast with a height of 240 metres, which is insulated against ground.
