Toxicity (Album)

Toxicity was System of a Down's second album released. Produced by Rick Rubin, Toxicity was recorded in 2000 and released on September 4, 2001 by American Recordings. The album was a hit across the United States and Canada. The album expanded on System of a Down's previous work, keeping the angular riffs and harsh rhythms but adding a pop-friendly sense of melody. With oblique, political lyrics, Toxicity established System of a Down as one of the premiere metal bands of the new millennium.
