Tony Sargeant 6th Dan started aikido in 1973 training in a number of different styles before meeting Morihiro Saito Sensei and training under his Iwama Style Aikido. He is now the principle of Iwama Ryu GB along with Paul McGlone which is affliated with the Iwama Shin Shin Aikishuren Kai setup by Hitohiro Saito Sensei (son of Saito Sensei). Tony Sargeant started training under Morihiro Saito in 1983 and attended a number of courses under Saito Sensei. Saito Sensei awarded Tony Sargeant the grade of 6th Dan which means he is one of the top Iwama Ryu Senseis. Tony Sargeant is now living in Greece still 1st principle of Iwama Ryu GB setting up a new Iwama Ryu dojo there. He has previously setup dojos in Orwell, Jersey, Russia and now Greece.
