Tony Kent Strix Award

The Strix award is an annual award, presented since 1998 in memory of Dr Tony Kent, a past Fellow of the Information Scientists, who died in 1997. The award is presented by UKeIG, a UK based professional body for users and developers of electronic information resources. The award is given for outstanding contributions to the field of information retrieval. Some of the recipients so far have been:
  * 1998 - Prof. Stephen Robertson  * 1999 - Dr Donna Harman  * 2000 - Dr Martin Porter  * 2001 - Professor Peter Willett  * 2002 - Malcolm Jones  * 2003 - Dr Herbert Van de Sompel
