Tonea Stewart

Dr. Tonea Stewart is an American actress and University Professor best known for her role as Aunt Etta on the television series In the Heat of the Night. She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and has appeared in numerous T.V. shows and movies. Formerly a high school teacher in Jackson, Mississippi, she has been the Director of Theatre Arts at the University of Alabama for many years. She narrated the acclaimed Voices of Slavery radio program.
