Todd Akin

W. Todd Akin (born July 5 1947), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2001, representing the Second Congressional District of Missouri (map). Born in New York City, he attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and served in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers. Akin was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 1988 to 2000, when he was elected to the House. He is currently a member of the Armed Services Committee, Science Committee, and Small Business Committee.
