To Each His Own

To Each His Own is a 1946 film which tells the story of an unwed mother, following World War I, who gives up her son for adoption and loves him from afar. It stars Olivia de Havilland, Mary Anderson and Roland Culver. The movie was written by Charles Brackett and Jacques Thry, and directed by Mitchell Leisen. It won the Academy Award for Best Actress (Olivia de Havilland) and was nominated for Best Writing, Original Story.
