Titus (Rocket)

Titus is the designation of a French sounding rocket which was developed for observation of the total solar eclipse in Argentina on November 12, 1966. The Titus was a two-stage rocket with a length of 11.5 m, a takeoff weight of 3.4 tons, and a diameter of 56 cm. It reached a maximum height of 270 kilometers. The Titus was launched twice in in Las Palmas, Chaco during the eclipse.
