Tituba

Tituba was a Carib Indian and slave owned by Reverend Samuel Parris in Salem, Massachusetts. She was one of the first accused of witchcraft. She confessed to being a witch and was jailed rather than being hanged. She was married to John Indian and is, therefore, refered to as Tituba Indian. After the Witch Trials ended, she was released and relocated.
