Time Value Of An Option - option time value.
In finance, the time value of an option is determined by the chance that the option becomes (more) profitable and depends on the time until the expiration date and the volatility of the option. The time value of an option is always positive and declines exponentially with time, reaching zero at the expiration date. Besides the time value, an option also has an intrinsic value. See also
