Tianjin University

Tianjin University, (天津大学) is one of two Universities in Tianjin, China. It was founded on October 2, 1895 and was at first known as Peiyang University(北洋大学). It was the first modern institution of higher education in China. Peiyang University changed its name to Tianjin University in 1951 after it merged with the Hebei Institute of Technology. Its two university libraries have over 26,000 m² of floor space and a collection of 1.74 million books. Tianjin University has 11 schools and an enrolment of more than 16,000 students. The university has an attractive campus with an area of 1.37 km² and is adjacent to Nankai University. It is located on: 92 WeiJin Road, NanKai District, Tianjin 300072, People's Republic of China. Its motto is Seek truth from facts.
