Thums Up

Thums Up is a carbonated soft drink that is very popular in India, where its bold "thumbs up" logo is common. Introduced in 1977 to offset the unceremonious 1975 exit of Coca-Cola from India, Thums Up and Campa-Cola gained nationwide acceptance. With the advent of India's economic liberalization, many multinational companies including PepsiCo and Coca-Cola re-entered the Indian markets in 1992. Thums Up was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company in 1993.
